GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, delivered welcoming remarks to attendees at the Law Enforcement Expo at Gurnee Mills in Gurnee on Saturday. The event’s opening ceremony paid tribute to the citizens and first responders who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“We owe so much of our safety and security to our law enforcement. I’m grateful to our officers for all they do to protect our residents and for the sacrifices they make to keep our community safe every day,” said Mason. “I’m so glad to see this event come to Gurnee this year, it’s a great opportunity for law enforcement to connect with residents and for both groups to continue cultivating a positive relationship with one another.”

The Law Enforcement Expo is an annual event open to the public featuring police squad cars, motorcycles and family-friendly demonstrations.
