SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, will help homeowners learn about the use of solar energy in their homes during an Energy Efficiency seminar he will be hosting with ComEd.
“With the advent of green energy and technology, homeowners should take the time to learn about the good solar energy can do to but also find out if their homes can support solar panels,” said Carroll. “Representatives from ComEd will offer residents an efficiency survey on their homes to verify the use and support of panels being installed on people’s homes.”
Carroll and ComEd will offer local residents interested in learning more about solar energy an Energy Efficiency Seminar on Wednesday, August 28 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Experts from ComEd will be on site to help review with homeowners tips to save on energy and money, discuss an energy efficiency survey to determine if peoples’ houses can support solar panels and an automotive service from ComEd to assist with air conditioning. The event will take place at the Prospect Heights Library located at 12 N. Elm St. in Prospect Heights. The event is free and open to the public.
“I strongly encourage people to come to this event to find out if their homes can not only support solar panels but find out if they could even earn money back over time,” said Carroll. “This seminar offers knowledge about programs that ComEd offers to homeowners to help cut back on fossil-fuel emissions in the long-run, but makes important strides to move toward renewable energy.”
