CHICAGO, Ill. – To help residents receive real property tax relief, state Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, hosted over 150 homeowners in the 45th Ward last night for an appeal and exemption workshop in conjunction with Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi, 45th Ward Alderman Jim Gardiner, and Cook County Commissioner Bridget Degnan.

“Connecting homeowners to real property tax relief is one of the most important parts of my job,” Andrade said. “I’m going to keep holding events like these and continue fighting for legislation in Springfield to make meaningful, statewide changes to help struggling homeowners stay in their houses.”

This year, Andrade served as a chief co-sponsor of Senate Bill 39, which created the Illinois Property Tax Relief Fund, allowing the state to provide direct property tax rebates to homeowners for the first time. Andrade is encouraging residents with any questions about property taxes to contact his office.

Andrade’s full time constituent service office is located at 3007 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago, and can be reached via email at StateRep40@gmail.com, or via telephone at 773-267-2880.
