CHICAGO – To help local residents save money and lower their property tax bills, state Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is partnering with Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Larry R. Rogers, Jr. to host a free property tax appeal seminar.
“Many people in our community are struggling to stay in their homes and make ends meet because they are unable to afford increasing property taxes,” said Slaughter. “In times like these, it is absolutely crucial that we do all that we can to provide needed property tax relief to the homeowners who need it most.”
Slaughter’s property tax appeal seminar will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at his constituent service office, located at 1234 W. 95th St. in Chicago. Representatives from Commissioner Roger’s office will be present to walk residents through the appeals process for property tax assessments.
“While I am committed to providing long-term property tax relief to local homeowners, it is also a priority of mine to help residents receive relief immediately by connecting them to local property tax appeal experts,” said Slaughter. “With Lake Township’s appeal window coming to a close, I encourage all homeowners with questions about their property tax assessment to attend.”
