BERWYN, Ill. – State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, is inviting local residents to share their thoughts on building a stronger Illinois for working families over a cup of coffee at her ‘Cafecito con Lisa’ events this month in Berwyn.

“While more remains to be done to move our state forward, we made tremendous progress this year to provide our local schools with millions of dollars in additional funding so they are less reliant on property taxes, as well as protect access to health care,” Hernandez said. “I look forward to meeting with local residents over some coffee to update them on my work and to hear their thoughts on what they’d like to see to get done.”

Hernandez used this spring legislative session to build a stronger Illinois by raising the minimum wage to a living wage, expanding access to state financial aid for minority and marginalized young people, and protecting access to health care for Illinoisans with pre-existing conditions.

Residents can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee with Hernandez and share their thoughts on the state and local issues that matter most to them. Hernandez’s upcoming events will be held at the following locations:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Lunges ‘n Lattes, located at 6805 Stanley Ave. in Berwyn
  • Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at Crepas Culichi, located at 2713 Ridgeland Ave. in Berwyn
