GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, hosted a booth during the annual Gurnee Days festival to connect with community members at Viking Park on Saturday.

“Gurnee is my home.  I’ve enjoyed Gurnee Days with my kids year after year. This year, I hosted a booth as State Representative on Saturday and Sunday, hearing from community members about what’s important to them and letting them know about services my office can provide. My family and I also enjoyed rides, ribs and fireworks with our friends and neighbors. I applaud the Village of Gurnee, Gurnee Park District and Gurnee Days Corporation for another great year,” said Mason. “This year’s Gurnee Days has been especially meaningful for me, as I’ve been able to spend it hearing from residents about ways we can improve our state and community.”

Mason discussed a variety of state and local issues with residents at Gurnee Days, including property taxes, pension reform and more affordable healthcare.
