LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – In preparation for the upcoming school year, state Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, D-Libertyville, will co-host a Back to School Fair with the Foglia YMCA on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Foglia YMCA located at 1025 N. Old McHenry Rd. in Lake Zurich.

“As a teacher, I understand how exciting and busy a new school year can be. By hosting this back to school event with Foglia YMCA, I hope to bring some fun back into the beginning of the school year and help prepare students for a year of success,” Edly-Allen said.

The back to school fair will feature a touch-a-truck event, child fingerprinting from the Illinois State Police, child identification cards from the Illinois Secretary of State, and multiple other local vendors and business providing services for the new school year. The fair is free and open to the public.

“I miss being able to interact with students on an everyday basis in the classroom but I enjoy being able to help them grow in a new and different way,” Edly-Allen added. “I encourage all families to come out to this fun and informative family-friendly event as we gear up for another successful school year.”
