COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – To provide a setting for residents to voice their concerns about state and local issues, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, will be hosting “Coffee with Katie” on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Verona Coffee, located at 101A East Main Street in Collinsville.

“Coffee with Katie gives me an opportunity to chat with constituents about their views on local and state issues, while spending the afternoon at a great local business like Verona Coffee,” Stuart said. “I encourage everyone in my district to attend and bring their comments and concerns about the issues and topics on their mind.”

Stuart hosts regular “Coffee with Katie” meetings at local restaurants and coffee shops as an opportunity for residents to talk with their representative about the issues that matter the most to them. Residents are encouraged to attend the event as an opportunity to share their thoughts on local issues and to get to know Stuart better.

“At my last ‘Coffee with Katie’, I was able to update people about my vote against the raise in the Gas Tax and my Property Tax Appeals seminars around the district to help lower their bills this year,” continued Stuart. “The best part about ‘Coffee with Katie’ is that there isn’t a set agenda and we can discuss whatever issues are most important to the participants.”

The event is free and open to the public. For more information about upcoming events, contact Rep. Stuart’s constituent office at 618-365-6650.
