GLENVIEW, Ill. – State Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, recently visited Glenbrook South High School to meet and talk to students involved with the schools civics group.

“Making sure that our young people receive a world-class education is a top priority of mine, and I’m happy to have had the chance to meet with students and hear their input on the issues they care about,” Carroll said. “The bipartisan, balanced budget I supported, maintains our state’s commitment to local public schools by providing them an additional $375 million.”

Carroll toured the Glenbrook South High School to meet with faculty and students that regularly engage in civic activities. During the meeting, Carroll discussed his role as a local legislator, how the budget plan protects school funding and how real estate taxes impact schools in the district and elsewhere.

Carroll’s office is offering summer internship opportunities for students interested in state government, as well as assisting with constituent services. Students are encouraged to send resumes to Carroll’s district office manager Mike Amarilio at MA@RepCarroll.com.
