LAKE VILLA, Ill. – Community members joined state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, in Lake Villa on Tuesday for a Property Tax Appeal Seminar at the Lake Villa Assessor’s Office. Mason’s seminar was held in coordination with state Reps. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, and Tom Weber, R-Lake Villa.

“Our seminar covered a lot of topics aimed at ensuring residents’ properties are being fairly assessed and helping residents understand the appeals process to potentially help reduce their tax burden,” said Mason. “Following the seminar, I heard from community members as they spoke about the need to fix our property tax system and improve funding for public education, two sentiments I share very strongly.”

Mason’s seminar was led by Lake Villa Assessor Jeffrey Lee and covered information about property tax exemptions, assessments and appeals. For more information, please contact Mason’s constituent service office by calling 847-485-9986 or emailing info@repjoycemason.com.
