SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Camille Y. Lilly, D-Chicago, hailed a bipartisan capital infrastructure plan that will make critical investments in infrastructure for the Village of Franklin Park.

“After years of disinvestment, Illinois is finally getting back on track by investing in critical infrastructure projects to help our local communities,” Lilly said. “This infrastructure investment plan will create high-wage jobs for workers in Franklin Park and similar communities across our state.”

The capital infrastructure bill, known as Rebuild Illinois, includes over $1.3 million going to directly to the Village of Franklin Park including

  • $650,000 to upgrade traffic signals and improve traffic safety
  • $500,000 for water infrastructure repairs to ensure safe and efficient drinking water systems for residents
  • Nearly $200,000 for Metra parking lot expansions to encourage mass transit use among commuters

“These infrastructure investments will directly improve the lives of residents in Franklin Park by helping ensure traffic safety, safe drinking water, and access to a range of transportation options,” Franklin Park Mayor Barrett Pedersen said. “I offer thanks to Rep. Lilly for her leadership in helping our community secure these investments and I look forward to our continued partnership to improve infrastructure in the village.”
