EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is hosting a Citizens’ Advisory Committee focused on women’s issues on Wednesday, July 24 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Mississippi/Illinois Room of the Morris University Center on the SIU-Edwardsville campus.
“I want to give my constituents an opportunity for a conversation specifically on the issues that impact the women of our community while I have a break from session,” said Stuart. “I also wanted to take this opportunity to tell my constituents what laws and legislation developed over the past few months concerning women across the state and locally.”
Stuart hosts regular Citizens’ Advisory Committee meetings and other public meetings on various topics for residents to share their opinions on state issues. All residents, organization members, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend to share their views and join the discussion regarding issues facing women locally and at the state level. Stuart’s advisory meetings are free and open to the public.
“The conversations I have with local residents drive my legislative agenda in Springfield, and Citizens’ Advisory Committee meetings are one forum that provides feedback on a focused topic, like women’s issues,” Stuart added. “I encourage everyone to attend this meeting and share their ideas with me on how we can tackle any issues that women are facing in our communities and in our state.”
