SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, will be hosting an advisory committee in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illinois (NAMI) Veterans Support Group to discuss issues facing veterans in her district. The event is on Tuesday, July 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bloomingdale Public Library, located at 101 Fairfield Way in Bloomingdale.

“Veterans have made great sacrifices to keep us safe and they deserve to have their voices heard, and I’m grateful for the NAMI Veterans Support Group for joining me,” Pappas said. “I need to know what their priorities are so I can best advocate for them in Springfield. Whether their key issues are specific to health care, economic development, education or something else, getting feedback is crucial. Panels like this help me stay connected to people I represent.”

Pappas’s event is free and open to any veterans, service members, their families or other residents who are interested in discussing issues facing the veteran community. Light refreshments will be served. For more information or to RSVP, please call Pappas’ district office at 224-520-8838.
