CHICAGO – In an effort to combat fraud and identity theft, state Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago and Alderman Samantha Nugent, are hosting a free shred day on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m until 12 p.m. at the parking lot of Coletti’s Restaurant located at 5707 N. Central Ave in Chicago.

D’Amico and Nugent’s shred day will offer residents the opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents. Residents and local businesses are invited to bring old, unneeded documents such as old tax returns, pay stubs, bills, and receipts to be safely disposed of at this free event. Each participant is limited to 2 full boxes of papers to be shredded. This event is free and open to the public.
