BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – State Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is encouraging high school and college students to participate in his Youth Advisory Council on Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Vernon Area Library, located at 300 Olde Half Day Rd. in Lincolnshire.
“Everywhere I go, I always meet engaged and intelligent young people who are concerned about their future and the future of our country,” said Didech. “The students of today have a bigger stake in the future than anyone else. I want to sit down with them and talk about how we can turn their big ideas into action.”
Didech’s Youth Advisory Council is open to all current high school and college students who want to discuss ideas or propose new laws. Environmental stewardship, commonsense gun laws, and election reform are topics Didech expects will come up in the discussion, although he hopes all attendees will speak their minds on whatever issues are important to them.
“My office has taken ideas from students, turned them into legislation, and introduced them on the floor of the House.,” said Didech. “The energy that young people bring to the table should help guide the laws being made in Springfield, as they are the ones who will be directly affected by the decisions down the road.”
