DES PLAINES, Ill. – Continuing his efforts to bring resources into the community to benefit residents in the 55th District, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, announced he will be hosting another Community Shredding Day Event on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Juno Lighting Group, located at 1300 S. Wolf Rd. in Des Plaines.

“We need to do everything we can to protect the financial integrity and personal information of our residents,” said Moylan. “That is why I will be hosting another Community Shred Day this June.”

Moylan will be joined by state Senator Laura Murphy, D-Des Plaines, for the free community event. Residents will have the opportunity to bring documents that contain personally identifiable information to be shredded safely. Attendees are asked to remember to remove all paper clips, staples and other bindings.

Moylan asks residents to enter on the wolf road side of the parking lot, as the Algonquin side will be used by Juno Lighting Group employees. The shredding truck will be located in the Wolf Rd. entrance parking lot.

“I encourage all residents that have documents containing personal or confidential information to come by our free event so we can safely and securely shred their documents,” said Moylan. “With all the recent data breaches and cyber-attacks, we must take steps to proactively help residents safely discard their most personal documents.”
