ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is partnering with the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) to host a Utility Bill Clinic on Tuesday, May 21 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The event will be at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, located at 814 Hart Road in Round Lake. Residents who bring their gas, electric and phone bills will receive a free consultation with an expert who will identify hidden fees and unnecessary charges that can be eliminated.

“With property taxes as high as they are, people are already stretched thin,” said Yingling. “People cannot afford to pay pricy utility bills, especially when those bills are littered with unnecessary fees.”

During his time in the General Assembly, Yingling has fought to protect consumers from costly utility bills by introducing legislation that would prohibit unregulated utility companies from using the logos of regulated utility companies to trick consumers into purchasing unneeded services or packages. Hosting Utility Bill Clinics is just one of the ways that Yingling is working to keep utility bills manageable for middle-class families.

“Finding ways to provide financial relief for families is a top priority of mine,” said Yingling. “The Utility Bill Clinic is a great way to help hard-working families keep more of their earnings in their pockets, and I hope everyone will come by with their bills and find out how they can save.”

For more information on the Utility Bill Clinic, please contact Yingling’s full-time constituent service office at 847-231-6262 or email repsamyingling@gmail.com.
