Moylan Backs Bill Protecting Health Care

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is standing up for Illinois families by supporting legislation protecting access to quality health plans.

“President Trump and Congressional Republicans continue to work with insurance companies to reduce access to affordable, quality health insurance,” said Moylan. “Allowing Illinois families to enjoy protections such as coverage for pre-existing conditions is among my top priorities. 

Moylan supports Senate Bill 2026, which would prevent Illinois from applying for federal waivers allowing insurance companies to offer plans with reduced protections mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Plans under the waiver are more expensive and are less comprehensive, often excluding coverage for pre-existing conditions. Moylan is a strong advocate for health care access, sponsoring legislation that would prevent unreasonable insurance premium hikes.
