SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – As guests of state Rep. Karina Villa, D-West Chicago, Mariachi los Rayos de Leman Middle School visited the Illinois State Capitol yesterday to play at the Latino Unity Day Celebration.
“I want to thank Mariachi los Rayos de Leman Middle School for making the trip to Springfield to showcase the talent of our local youth and to celebrate Latino Unity Day. I am grateful to the IEA for sponsoring the bus that brought the students to the event,” said Villa. “As a Latina, the daughter of immigrants and a member of the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus, I will continue to fight for policies that benefit immigrant and Latinx communities throughout our state.”
