CASEYVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, recently hosted a Labor Roundtable at the Steamfitters Local 439 with Metro East legislators Rep. Monica Bristow, D-Alton, Rep. LaToya Greenwood, D-East St. Louis, Rep. Jay Hoffman D-Swansea, Sen. Rachelle Crowe D-Glen Carbon, and Sen. Christopher Belt, D-Cahokia, to discuss legislation and the final few weeks of the spring legislative session.

“As state Representative I want to be as accessible as possible to local residents, and hosting roundtables and other discussions is a great opportunity for me to hear the thoughts and concerns of the people I represent directly from them,” Stuart said. “I appreciate local labor members and leadership for meeting with myself and other local lawmakers to discuss how we can work together to protect middle-class families and organized labor groups.”

Stuart discussed recently passed legislation and highlighted her legislative priorities for the upcoming weeks.  Members of the Steamfitters Local 439 also had the opportunity to ask legislators questions regarding sports betting at Fairmount Park and investments into local infrastructure projects.
