SKOKIE, Ill. – In an effort to hear from residents directly, State Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, is using his time away from Springfield to walk door-to-door in local communities and listen to the concerns of residents.

“The discussions I have with folks at their doors and community events helps me be the strongest voice possible for our community,” Kalish said. “Over the next month, the Legislature will be voting on a variety of measures that will help move our state forward, including adopting a Fair Tax that will help fund our local schools, protect lifesaving health care services and make the wealthiest pay their fair share. I want to make sure local voices are part of these important decisions.”

In addition to talking with residents at their doors, Kalish joined Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky for a town hall meeting hosted by state Sen. Ram Villivalam, held meetings with constituents at his district office and visited with local teachers.
