AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, joined residents and experts to discuss green energy and Illinois’ role in stopping climate change at a town hall at the  Illinois Mathematics and Sciency Academy (IMSA) in Aurora on Wednesday.

“I’m grateful to IMSA for inviting me to speak on this panel, and for shining a light on an extremely important issue,” Hernandez said. “This institution is training leaders to find innovative solutions for the problems climate change will bring. Illinois’ future, like the futures of other states, will be closely-tied to the effects of a rapidly shifting environment. The best defense against those problems is preparing a generation of well-educated students ready to tackle what’s coming their way.”

Participating in this panel was just one of many outreach events Hernandez has recently taken part in to promote government transparency and remain connected with her communities.
