EAST MOLINE, Ill. – State Rep. Mike Halpin, D-Rock Island, and East Moline Mayor Reggie Freeman met constituents at a town hall meeting Tuesday, to have a conversation about local issues and stay in touch with the priorities of residents.

“I appreciate the opportunity to talk with Mayor Freeman and the people of East Moline,” Halpin said. “Sharing this time helps me set my legislative goals, so, when I return to Springfield, I make sure I work best for my communities. People want representatives who will promote economic development, ensure veterans have the support they need and build up local schools. They also want their elected officials to face our challenges head on and lead with honesty and integrity.”

Halpin and Freeman met with residents for two hours Tuesday night at United Township High School. This meeting was part of Halpin’s continued effort to promote government transparency and keep his agenda in line with the views and needs of his communities, and is just one of many scheduled events focused on achieving those goals.
