ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake is partnering with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Avon Township to host a Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Avon Township Building, located at 433 E. Washington St. in Round Lake Park. This event is an opportunity for residents to securely dispose of unused medications.
“Substance abuse is an issue that has affected many families in our community, and it is up to all of us to collectively combat this issue,” said Yingling. “Safely disposing of unused medication is a crucial part of making sure that medication does not end up in the wrong hands. I am committed to doing everything in my power to be a part of the solution when it comes to solving this epidemic.”
During his time in office, Yingling has been working to combat the opioid epidemic. Yingling was a chief co-sponsor for legislation to create the Heroin Crisis Act, and holding the Drug Take Back Day is just another step in Yingling’s fight against the opioid epidemic.
