CALUMET CITY, Ill. – Hoping to offer hands-on experience with state government and constituent services, state Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, is looking for summer interns to assist with his community outreach.

“Ensuring my offices’ resources are accessible as possible to the community is important to me, and I want students to help me work with our local families,” Jones said. “I am offering summer and fall internships for students to help them gain valuable skills while keeping in touch with residents and learning about the issues our neighbors are most concerned about.”

Jones’ interns would be expected to work during the summer, however possible hours for the fall semester can be worked out as well. Although no experience is needed, applicants should indicate any prior experience on their resume. Hours for the internship are flexible around applicants’ schedules. An updated resume and listed availability can be sent to info@RepThaddeusJones.com.

“There is a lot of knowledge to learn from working in local government, and I cannot wait to start working with students,” Jones said. “These students will gain a better understanding of how my office and local government communicate and work for the residents each and every day.”
