GURNEE, Ill. – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is inviting older adults to join her newly established Senior Advisory Council. Members of the council will attend regular meetings with Mason to discuss current legislative matters impacting senior adults in the 61st Representative District.
“The primary goal of this council is to ensure my senior constituents have a regular opportunity to provide me with feedback on the bills, resolutions and amendments drafted each session,” said Mason. “I strongly encourage any older adult interested in increasing his or her civic involvement to join.”
Mason plans for her Senior Advisory Council to meet quarterly at a central location in the district. The location and dates of the quarterly meetings are to be determined. To join or learn more about the council, please contact Mason’s constituent service office at 847-485-9986 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I am hopeful this council will spark a constructive dialogue around currently proposed legislation,” said Mason. “I truly value the perspective of our seniors, and this council will provide me with the opportunity to connect with those individuals in our community.”
