ROCKFORD, Ill. – Looking to honor the positive, daily impact of mothers in the community, state Rep. Maurice West II, D-Rockford, will host a free Mother’s Day Luncheon on Saturday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Cliffbreakers, located at 700 W. Riverside Blvd. in Rockford.
“I’m excited to bring back a Rockford tradition, and look forward to this gathering of influential Rockford women,” West said. “Mothers make sacrifices each and every day to help others have a better life. It’s important to recognize what these strong women do.”
The Mother’s Day Luncheon will feature former state Rep. Litesa Wallace as a keynote speaker, and food served will come from women-owned local businesses. While in office, former state Rep. Chuck Jefferson began an annual Mother’s Day luncheon as a way to recognize women in the community.
Potential attendees are asked to please contact West’s office in advance to RSVP. They may call 815-987-7433 or email Contact@StateRepWEST.com.
