SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, recently welcomed Army Veteran Jordan Mitchell of Monee to the state Capitol, culminating Mitchell’s 189-mile, five-day ruck march to Springfield to raise awareness of human trafficking and funds to assist survivors.

“It was an honor to welcome Jordan to Springfield as part of his journey against human trafficking,” said Kifowit. “This is a crime we take seriously and work hard to combat. We need to activate all avenues of awareness to let others know of the devastating effects it has on our communities.”

Mitchell is the director of Provision Lab, a non-profit organization dedicated to countering human trafficking. Following his five-day ruck march from Monee to Springfield, Kifowit recognized Mitchell on the House floor and commended his efforts to stop human trafficking activity.
