SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, met recently with members of Moms Demand Action, a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting for public safety measures protecting people from gun violence, during a lobby day in Springfield.
“Moms Demand Action is a fantastic organization pushing for common-sense gun regulations and working to end gun violence,” Walker said. “As a sponsor and co-sponsor of reform legislation promoting responsible gun ownership and limiting the gun possession of domestic abusers, I stand proudly with Moms Demand Action.”
Elected on a promise to promote common-sense gun laws, Walker has sponsored legislation aimed at understanding and laying the groundwork for regulating the use of smart gun technology. Additionally, Walker co-sponsored House Bill 887 which calls for the denial of a Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) or the revocation of a FOID card if someone is found guilty of stalking or a similar offense while possessing a firearm.
