CHICAGO –State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, was recently named a Co-Chair of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus in recognition of his strong support for sportsmen.

“It is an honor to have received the privilege to serve as a Co-Chair of the Sportsmen’s Caucus,” said D’Amico. “In this distinguished role, I will continue in my efforts to enact legislation that protects sportsmen and to help protect the vast amount of natural beauty and parks that we have in Illinois.”

The National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses is recognized around the country and has chapters that extend to state legislatures as well. The bipartisan Sportsmen’s Caucus is designed to uphold and defend the rights of sportsmen and women and advance policies that promote hunting, fishing, trapping, and wildlife management.

“As a sportsman, it’s a big priority of mine to ensure that we are preserving the natural parks and beauty in Illinois that allow us to enjoy the activities we love,” D’Amico said. “I am proud to be involved in this new role and look forward to the work that lies ahead.”
