CHICAGO – State Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, delivered a speech on the House floor recognizing today as the first day of the Jewish month of Adar and condemning the alarming recent trend of increased anti-Semitism in Illinois and across the nation.

“With anti-Semitism on the rise nationally by 57% and anti-sematic incidents in Illinois up a staggering 353%, now more than ever is it important that we fight against bigots of all kinds,” Kalish said.  “G-d will save us from destruction as he always has, but I ask this body of the Illinois State Legislature to please stand united against hate and anti-Semitism.”
