CHICAGO – State Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, joined colleagues on the Insurance Committee and the Prescription Drug Affordability Committee for a joint committee hearing to examine the rising cost of prescription drugs and its effect on consumers today at the Bilandic Building in Chicago.

“Increasing drug prices are causing families to decide between paying for essential drugs or keeping up with their bills,” Kalish said. “We need to bring all stakeholders to the table and work toward adopting policy that will help offer relief to the increasing cost of prescription drugs. This hearing was a positive first step toward enacting meaningful change, and I look forward to continuing to fight for better, more affordable health care for families in Illinois.”
