LOMBARD – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, is encouraging local high school and college students interested in government, communications, and public service to apply for internships in her Lombard district office.
“It is important for our young people to understand how our state government works, whether they aspire to careers in public service or simply want to become better-educated voters,” Costa-Howard said. “My internships will offer our students an inside look at the many ways our state government serves the people of the 48th District.”
Interns in Costa Howard’s office will be expected to help coordinate local events, assist with constituent services, and lead outreach projects. Costa Howard’s internship program offers flexible hours, and school credit is possible.
“Over the past months, as I have knocked doors and attended community meetings, I have met so many bright young people who are excited about the idea of public service,” Costa Howard said. “These high school and college students are our future leaders, and they can bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the issues we face here in our local communities and throughout Illinois. I look forward to making these energetic, optimistic students part of my district team.”
Students may apply to Costa Howard’s internship program by sending a letter briefly describing their backgrounds and relevant interests to RepTCH48@gmail.com.
