LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, D-Libertyville, is inviting residents to join her for a community discussion on state and local issues on Saturday, March 2 from 9 am to 10 am at The Picnic Basket located at 501 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville.

“Hosting these meetings gives me an opportunity to hear directly from the people I represent in a comfortable, one-on-one setting,” said Edly-Allen. “Being accessible to local residents is my top priority. I want people to know that my door is always open and that I’m always ready to discuss the issues important to them.”

Edly-Allen will be hosting a series of small, informal meetings in coffee shops, restaurants, and diners throughout her district to listen to resident concerns and better understand the issues facing communities in the 51st District.

“I truly believe that our state is best served when we work together and collaborate to find ways to address the needs of our communities,” Edly-Allen added. “I will continue to solicit the feedback and ideas of our community through these informal coffee shop meetings in addition to convening citizen advisory committees, hosting informational seminars and going door-to-door.”
