SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, issued the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s budget address Wednesday:

“After enduring four difficult years under a reckless governor, it is encouraging to have a new governor that is willing to examine the tough decisions needed to address the challenges that face our state, and to finally put the residents of Illinois first.

“I look forward to working through the details of the ideas Governor Pritzker mentioned today, and will carefully review how these proposals would impact the residents of our community. I am committed to working with members on both sides of the aisle, the governor’s administration and other stakeholders to create a budget that puts our state back on track. Compromise and cooperation will be essential.

“I look forward to a collaborative budget process that will protect life-saving services that residents depend on, increase funding for education and continue to cut wasteful spending. I am ready to make the tough decisions necessary to put Illinois back on course.”
