SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In response to the governor’s budget address given on Wednesday, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, issued the following statement:
“Today, Governor Pritzker delivered his first budget address before the General Assembly, laying out a plan addressing the fiscal problems facing the state of Illinois. After four long, disastrous years of failed leadership under Bruce Rauner, it is refreshing to have a governor willing to work with the General Assembly to improve the lives of Illinois families.
“I look forward to working with the governor and my Republican and Democratic colleagues to find commonsense solutions to get Illinois on the right track. Through compromise and negotiation, we can deliver results the people of Illinois deserve from their state government in a balanced and fair approach. Illinois’ best days are ahead of us, and we can begin to lay the foundation for prosperity.”
