SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, releases the following statement after Gov. Pritzker’s Budget Address on Wednesday:
“Today we heard from Gov. Pritzker on his plans for the upcoming budget. It’s clear that digging out state out of the financial mess left by the former governor will take tough decisions and work from both parties to find solutions that put the middle-class families first.
“Our elementary schools, colleges, and social services are among the many services still recovering from the Rauner budget crisis. Some never will recover and demonstrate the real-world implications of putting politics before people.
“Any budget proposal must protect the critical services that families rely on, and I will work with my colleagues to ensure that our budget works in the best interest of Illinois Valley families and those across the state. I look forward to working with my colleagues to get our state on the right track and give all Illinois families the opportunity to prosper.”
