“As we begin the budgeting process, we have to focus on investing in critically-needed services that did not receive the attention they deserved over the past four years.
“As Chairperson of the House Higher Education Appropriations Committee, I recognize that our state’s higher education system was hurt by our former governor’s reckless political decisions, but now we have a chance to prioritize our state’s schools. Additionally, we can renew our commitment to critically-needed services, such as Meals on Wheels and cancer screenings that seniors and families across our state depend on.
