CHICAGO – State Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is hosting his 2nd annual open house on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at his district office, located at 1234 W. 95th Street in Chicago to discuss state services, legislation, and local concerns.

“One of my top priorities as a state representative is listening to the concerns and ideas of my constituents,” Slaughter said. “This is an opportunity for residents to learn about the different ways I can serve them as one of their state legislators and what state services they may benefit from.”

Slaughter will present a legislative update from Springfield and share information on state services, volunteer opportunities, and district programs. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided.

“Informing my constituents on the role of state government and the legislative process is an important part of my job as a state representative,” Slaughter said. “I invite everyone in our community to come with questions, concerns, and ideas for ways to improve our neighborhoods and our state. The more engaged citizens are in government, the healthier our democracy is.”
