DES PLAINES, Ill. – State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is ready to promote an agenda that prioritizes government transparency, invests in infrastructure, fights for working families and focuses on our veteran heroes as he begins a new term serving on House committees.
“As we work to address the challenges that face our community and state, I look forward to listening to residents, advocates and fellow lawmakers to find the best ways to tackle issues,” Moylan said. “Committees provide an opportunity to work together and compromise on ideas before they are considered by the full House, and I value this time to share the thoughts of my district on legislation.”
Moylan will serve as chair of the Transportation: Regulation, Roads and Bridges Committee, which will review issues related to transportation infrastructure. Additionally, Moylan will bring his past mayoral experience and good government advocacy to the Cities and Villages Committee, as well as the Counties and Townships Committee. Concerned about the health and well being of our nation’s veterans, Moylan has joined the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Working families will be prioritized for Moylan on the Labor and Commerce Committee, which will review legislation focused on wages, labor rights and other comparable issues.
“I’m excited to serve on committees that will have a real impact on the lives of residents across our state,” Moylan said. “When I walk door-to-door and listen to the concerns of residents, I value bringing their voice back to Springfield as we put together solutions to problems.”
