NORTHBROOK, Ill. – To honor the area’s rich diversity, state Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, is calling on students of all grades to participate in his art contest by submitting their creative designs to his office.

“This is a creative approach for students to develop their art skills and learn more about diversity,” said Carroll. “The arts are another way to encapsulate different cultures’ history and to preserve it for the future.”

Carroll’s contest is meant to inspire creativity among students and to highlight the vast diversity and backgrounds of the district. Students who want to submit their artwork can do so by contacting the office at jc@repcarroll.com or call 847-229-5499. All art mediums will be accepted, and the deadline to submit artwork will be March 31.

“I encourage all students to participate in this contest to have some fun while learning with their other classmates,” said Carroll. “I plan to post the artwork in both my district and Springfield offices to show visitors the talent and history of my district.”
