“I am grateful for the opportunity to return to Springfield to serve as an advocate for education and be a strong voice for our families, schools and teachers,” Mussman said. “Our children deserve the highest quality education, and as legislators we must work to ensure that our schools have excellent teachers, world-class curriculum and a learning environment that helps them succeed.”
Before serving in the Illinois General Assembly, Mussman advocated for better education as president of her local Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Mussman has continued this work as state representative by making education a top priority on her legislative agenda and working tirelessly to help pass historic bipartisan education funding reform that was signed into law in 2017. As chair of the Elementary & Secondary Education: School Curriculum & Policies Committee, Mussman will be responsible for implementing policies that improve education and provide students with educational programs to help them reach their potential.
“Our children and their education should be one of our most important issues, and I look forward to working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to come up with creative solutions to improve our schools,” Mussman said. “Providing quality education and working to help our schools be as successful as possible will lead to a better future for our students and help improve our local communities.”
