SKOKIE, Ill. – New state Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, is working to bring local ideas to the State Capitol by asking residents to submit their thoughts for new bills for the upcoming legislative session as he embarks on a district wide listening tour.
“I believe the strength of our community is its diversity and the breadth of perspectives on how to solve the problems that face our state,” Kalish said. “That’s why I am embarking on a listening tour across the district, to get a better understanding of issues that residents are facing and using those conversations to draft legislation that will solve the problems our communities face.”
Residents can submit their ideas for new legislation to Kalish’s new constituent service office at repymkalish@gmail.com. Submissions will be reviewed and considered as Kalish begins building his legislative agenda for the coming session. As the deadline for filing new bills is approaching, residents are asked to submit their requests as soon as possible.
“I’m determined to work with my colleagues to move Illinois forward, and therefore I believe it’s critical that we make sure the voices of our community are heard in the Capitol,” Kalish said. “I look forward to working with every resident of the district to fully fund our local schools, ensure access to quality health care and to build a brighter future for our community.”
