EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – State Rep. LaToya Greenwood, D-East St. Louis, released the following statement after Gov. Pritzker signed a new Executive Order to protect women’s reproductive rights:

“I am proud to be an advocate and proponent on behalf of women and their reproductive health. Taking steps to strengthen the reproductive rights of women of all races, ethnicities and backgrounds is one of my many ongoing priorities.

“It is important for us to send a strong and clear message that we are not going to sit along the sidelines while women’s rights are under attack. The courts have ruled that the government cannot interfere with a women and her own personal health care decisions.

“I commend Gov. Pritzker for taking swift action to ensure greater protections for women and their reproductive health. With the help of this administration and the efforts of my colleagues, I remain steadfastly committed upholding women’s rights under the law.”
