“I am honored to enter the General Assembly at the beginning of a new era. I look forward to working with a new Governor and colleagues from both parties who are committed to making real progress” Morgan said. “The Legislature has many tough choices ahead and must put partisan politics aside to build a stronger state for future generations.”
Before his election to the House, Morgan worked to implement the federal Affordable Care Act and the state’s medical cannabis program. He will continue to fight for coverage protections and lower health care costs as a legislator.
“The midterms sent a clear message – the most important issue to the American people is health care,” said Morgan. “I’ve advocated my entire career for expanded access to health care, as well as for families and small businesses crushed by health care costs. Protecting health care coverage for people with pre-existing conditions and making quality health care more affordable must continue as top priorities.”
Since Lake County homeowners pay some of the nation’s highest property taxes, providing real tax relief is a top priority for Morgan.
“The American dream once included owning a home,” said Morgan. “But skyrocketing property taxes have turned owning a home into a burden for many. I am committed to providing residents with real property tax relief, whether it’s through legislation in Springfield or helping residents appeal property taxes back home.”
