SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – At today’s inauguration, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, pledged to continue efforts to lower property taxes, protect health care and invest in education as a new General Assembly begins.

“I am honored to be able to continue to serve as the state representative of the 98th District,” Manley said. “I have a renewed sense of optimism that the partisan gridlock of the Rauner years are behind us, and that a new era of bipartisan cooperation will enable us to meet the difficult challenges that face our state.”

Manley is supportive of efforts aimed at lowering the property tax burden on families, and has continued to push plans aimed at protecting health care and critical lifesaving services that were impacted by the Rauner budget impasse. When not in Springfield, Manley plans on continuing to meet with as many residents as possible. She will continue to hold legislative advisory committees across the district to provide updates on legislation and gather input from the community. Manley also plans to hold events and seminars to help connect constituents to important state resources.

“The most important priority that I have is to represent the concerns of my district and effectively share these concerns with elected officials,” Manley said. “I look forward to sharing the voice of local residents in Springfield as we pursue a positive agenda that moves our state forward.”
