CALUMET CITY, Ill. – On Wednesday, state Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, was sworn in to the 101st General Assembly. He delivered the following statement:
“I have been given the distinct honor to serve my district once again and it is my every intention to fight for all those in my community who feel that they have been left behind. While Trump and his radical allies sneak through policies to gut access to important services while giving tax cuts to their rich friends, I will fight to make the wealthy pay their fair share.
“This new general assembly has the opportunity to correct many of the wrongs of the past. My community deserves access to healthcare, good schools, safety from gun violence, and tax relief. I will take the opportunity I have been given to ensure everyone has access to these basic and critical needs.”
