ELMWOOD PARK, Ill. – Celebrating the holiday season and ushering in the New Year, state Rep. Camille Y. Lilly, D-Chicago, joined Elmwood Park officials and residents at the village’s annual tree lighting ceremony in the village’s downtown area.
“Each year, we come together to celebrate the holiday seasons and plan for the New Year,” said Lilly. “This is a time when we look to each other for fellowship and the common values that promote unity in our community.”
Every year, the Village of Elmwood Park celebrates the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting festivities. During these ceremonies, there are activities for all families, including train rides, caroling and a visit with Santa Claus. Lilly spoke to numerous village officials and families that attended to wish them a happy holiday season and New Year.
“There’s no end to the connections we make each year with one another, and it is my hope to build on that during the next General Assembly,” Lilly said. “If you are looking for more fun, Elmwood Park families might be interested in the village’s Winter Break kids camp that starts the day after Christmas.”
