BELLEVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Jay Hoffman, D-Swansea, is seeking thoughts and ideas from local residents on new legislation that could be introduced in the 101st General Assembly to help better serve members of the community.
“I’m welcoming legislative input and other ideas from local residents because I work for them,” Hoffman said. “It is an honor and a privilege to serve, and to deliver on behalf of our community, my ongoing priority is to be as open and accessible as possible to the people I represent.
Hoffman’s remarks come as the outgoing General Assembly draws to a close, as many returning and newly elected lawmakers take to Springfield after the New Year to be sworn in to the 101st General Assembly. The process of crafting new public policies will resume quickly thereafter, as the House and Senate reconvene to take up new legislative action.
Area residents are encouraged to contact Hoffman’s constituent services office at (618) 416-7407 or by emailing repjayhoffman@gmail.com to share their ideas.
“As we transition into the 101st General Assembly, it is my goal to continue serving as a strong advocate so we can pursue our shared interests,” Hoffman said. “To do this effectively, I’m encouraging local input and feedback for policy ideas that could potentially serve us well.”
