Mussman Points to Safe Shopping Guide as Helpful Resource for Holiday Gift Buying

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – State Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is encouraging families to review the 2018 edition of the attorney general’s Safe Shopping Guide to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Attorney General Madigan issues the guide annually to highlight hazardous toys, children’s products and household items that have been recalled during the past calendar year.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of our kids,” said Mussman. “The holidays are a time for us to be surrounded by loved ones, share old memories and create new ones. The last thing anyone wants to see happen is a small child becoming hurt or worse because a loved one purchased a faulty product. This potential harm is completely avoidable thanks to the annual Safe Shopping Guide from the attorney general’s office.”

Madigan’s Safe Shopping Guide includes detailed descriptions and photographs of children’s products that were recalled – from popular children’s toys and games to children’s furniture, cribs and strollers. The easy-to-use resource can help families avoid recalled products on the second-hand market and items that may already be in their homes.
